Property boundary surveying

The goal of property boundary surveying is simple: determine the location of land ownership lines and document them clearly. REDCON performs boundary retracement and property line surveys for residential and commercial sites, acquisitions, and work near lines or easements.

Research first, then field discovery

We start with records research through local, county, and state sources—deeds, plats, maps, and other documents that define rights and descriptions. We trace the subject parcel and relevant adjoiners as needed to understand the record intent and potential senior/junior impacts.

After research, we perform field reconnaissance to locate boundary evidence such as iron pipes/rods, monuments, walls, and fences, then conduct a full survey to document what was found.

Field methods and QA/QC

We use appropriate methods for the site—total station traverses, GNSS/GPS surveying, and control checks. Measurements are verified back in the office and run through a QA/QC process before deliverables are finalized.

Deliverables

Depending on scope and jurisdiction requirements, a boundary survey may include:

  • Monuments set/found at property corners (as required/authorized)
  • A written description of the property (as scoped)
  • A boundary plat/map suitable for project use
  • Documentation explaining the basis of boundary decisions (when needed)
